Dr. Lanza was born in South America and he and his family emigrated to the United States when he was ten years old. The family became citizens of the United States. Dr. Lanza grew up in California. He attended the University of California at Berkeley for undergraduate school then Medical School at UC San Francisco. Dr. Lanza served his residency in pediatrics at USC and then at Stanford for allergy training.
He practiced pediatric medicine in Los Angeles, San Francisco and San Luis Obispo for many years before moving to the Coos Bay area. He joined the team at Bay Clinic in the pediatric department for eight years before launching out on his dream of a “private practice”. In 2011 “Dr. Mike and Friends Pediatrics, PC” was born. Dr. Lanza loves what he does and insists on good medical care for every patient as well as a fun atmosphere for patients to enjoy. He is a natural and gifted teacher, so he is always teaching his patients how to improve their health or teaching his staff a new skill.
Glenda joined the team in October of 2016 as a Scribe. She has held several administrative positions throughout her career. She also enjoyed life as a stay-at-home mother for many years. She has volunteered with the Boys & Girls Club, schools, coached soccer, and has been involved in youth ministries. Glenda also joyfully served at an orphanage in Mexico. She is very active in her church and in women's ministries. She also loves spending time with her husband, son, and the rest of her family. When she's not working, she enjoys gardening, pottery, dancing, and participating in various events at her local church.
Roise grew up on the small island of Puerto Rico until she was 18 and then she moved to Hawaii for a year. She then moved to California where she met and married her husband of 26 years. They then moved to Oregon In 1990 and began their family. She chose to be a stay-at-home mom for her two wonderful kids until her youngest turned 9, She then re-joined the work force and was hired to work at Washington Mutual Bank. When they closed down she was hired to work for Bay Clinic as a front desk receptionist for three years. She was then given the opportunity to work several jobs within the clinic, which gave her experience and a way to see the inner workings of the medical field. In 2011 she came to work for Dr. Miguel Lanza as the receptionist and translator, Speaking Spanish is a big asset in the medical environment. She works the front desk, sends referrals, and does many other jobs here. She is the first person our patients see so she likes to keep things fun and easy going. She loves to see all of the babies and their smiles.
When she's not at work she likes to catch up on her reading, spend time with her family, shop, and travel. She looks forward to her weekend outings, and dinners with the kids, and working on little projects with them too.
Debbie grew up in an Air Force family, traveling all across the United States and even spending some time in foreign countries. She is married with two grown children and one grandchild. Early on, Debbie worked in retail, then started her own housekeeping business which included doing construction clean-up in order to have the flexibility to spend time with her family. Additionally, she took on a care-giving position for many years with a special senior lady.
Debbie has been with Dr. Mike and Friends Pediatrics, PC for many years now, and enjoys her job immensely. She brings a touch of kindness to every patient she comes in contact with. She works hard, studies hard and is ready every day to bring an encouraging word to our workplace. She also enjoys spending time with her family and her church family. She is the Worship Leader at her local church as she is a gifted song writer and vocalist. She has put together whole concerts that make everyone involved shine.
